About me

Hello. I'm Diana Cohen Connerty, MA. I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and practiced as a psychotherapist in New England for 24 years prior to moving to Florida. My dissertation was on Holistic Counseling where I explored alternative avenues to healing mental health issues as a therapist. I was inspired due to my work as an Ayurvedic Technician prior to graduate school, working with Deepak Chopra (before he was famous) at his first Ayurvedic Clinic in Somerville, MA.

During my 24 years as a psychotherapist my career consisted of 6 years in an outpatient hospital in Harvard Square, 6 years at a state prison and 11 years at an outpatient community counseling center. Additionally, I had a part-time private practice office. I treated clients with adjustment disorders, various addictions, family/relationship stressors and anxiety and depression.

In 2018, my family and I relocated to sunny Florida…ahh no more snow! I decided to switch and continue my career as a Life Coach mostly to separate from the billing and tracking systems of insurance companies. Private information is not truly confidential with insurance companies due to legal provisions, data sharing between insurers, and third-party data collection. While laws like HIPAA provide protections, they also contain exceptions that allow insurers to access and share data for business purposes.
